Tax Services – Federal and State Tax Returns

Work with a respected service provider of specialized tax reporting.

Most alternative entities used in Capital Markets transactions, including Delaware statutory trusts, partnerships, limited liability companies, and corporations, require specialized tax reporting.  Wilmington Trust SP Services, Inc. can provide the tax return preparation and filing services to assist with compliance with the tax reporting sections of your entity agreements.

Tax reporting can take many forms, including Trust Tax Returns (1041) with associated Grantor Letters,  Partnership Tax Returns (1065) with associated K-1s, and Corporate Tax returns (1120). These various forms may have different due dates and reporting requirements. This can be a complex process. Our team is not only astute in determining which report you need, but also has experience navigating the regulations associated with them.

Preparation and Filing

We prepare and file applicable filing extensions for the tax year.  Then we draft the federal and state tax returns, and required schedules, for client review.  Once the authorized party signs the returns, we sign as Tax Preparer and file accordingly.  A finalized version of the returns are provided for recordkeeping.

Professional Judgement to Resolve Variances

We will use our professional judgment in resolving questions where tax law is unclear, or where conflicts exist between tax authority interpretations and varying supportable positions.  Also, unless otherwise instructed by you, we will resolve such questions in your favor whenever possible.

Dissemination of K-1s and Grantor Letters

Once the returns are filed, our staff will disseminate any K-1s and Grantor Letters to the beneficial owners; as directed (e-mail or U.S. mail).  Clients do have the option to disseminate the K-1s and Grantor Letters themselves; as they deem appropriate.

Experience guides everything we do

Our approach is to customize a package of services for each entity, with a goal to help our clients with efficient, organized execution and integrated services. Your Capital Markets Relationship Manger will continue to serve as your single point of contact for all phases of the transaction; engaging Wilmington Trust SP Services on your behalf— to meet your tax reporting and filing requirements.
