Senior Wealth Relationship Manager
As a senior wealth relationship manager, James provides advice, coordination, and oversight for his client’s financial affairs. He orchestrates effective collaboration across the members of his client’s team at Wilmington Trust, as well as with the client’s external legal and tax professionals. James leverages his past experience as a trusts & estates attorney, trust officer, and relationship manager to help make his clients’ financial lives simpler and easier, offering a personalized approach grounded in critical thinking and careful analysis.
James brings more than a decade of experience serving the short- and long-term financial needs of successful individuals and families to his position at Wilmington Trust. He previously spent ten years at Bank of America Private Bank (formerly U.S. Trust), holding a variety of increasingly senior roles, most recently senior vice president and client manager. During his tenure with the firm, his focus was on advising ultra-high-net-worth/high-net-worth individuals and families in the areas of gift, estate, and income tax planning; intergenerational planning; wealth transfer; retirement planning, insurance; philanthropy; and risk management. He also specialized in providing fiduciary oversight and administration of investment management and trust accounts. Earlier in his career, James was a practicing attorney at a boutique law firm, where he specialized in estate planning, trust and estate administration, and Elder Law.
James holds his JD from St. John’s University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Providence College. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association. James is admitted to practice law in New York.
James and his wife, Dara, live in Brooklyn, New York with their two young children. In their free time, they enjoy golfing, skiing, and traveling to experience new places, people, and cultures.
